Pt. I  Wow what an evening. We started out cruisin’ the strip in Baby Blue. It seemed like there were very few folks out and about, but things sure picked up quick and The Classic and Antique cars were   ” Fantastic”  and everywhere. It was a good thing we were only going 5 miles per hour cuz I couldn’t keep my eyes on the road. I was continually looking left and then right at one beautiful Ford after Chevy after Studebaker. Needless to say after 4 trips up and down Market St. it was time to walk around and really get a close up view of everything & everyone. The Cars were even more spectacular up close. Most of the hoods were up so you could see the engines, some clean enuff to eat off of. I was, also, amazed and happy to see whole family participating. Folks driving or walking up and down the strip talking , laughing and just having a wonderful time. I finally caught up with the owners of the Blue 1974 Nova. And had a wonderful time chatting about the history of the car. Then off we go again and by now all the aromas from Tin Pan and Shooky’s are beginning to make me very hungry, but there is still much see and see again lol. And that is what we did. The evening was spectacular and we met some really wonderful people and then we topped our evening off with a trip to Monical’s. and that is a whole new story …..

Pt.2 Our trip to Monical’s Pizza….Luckily They were still open and not crowded at all. We were greeted at the door with a smiling friendly face and a great deal of professionalism and I’m thinking “Wow this is cool”. But what are they up to. We take our seats and within seconds here comes Savanna with menus more smiles and ready to take our orders. This is indeed Service above and beyond, and now I’m sure of it, They gotta be up to something or hiding something. But what could it be??? So as we are discussing menu choices and sharing our tale of Draggin Main it occurs to me just how late it is. Will we be able to order anything we want ? Is the grill closed or the Fryer down? Well whatever the case may be, I’m just gonna roll with it and enjoy the rest of this adventure. So Earthsong orders the Panther Pizza Single and a side  and now it’s my turn. By  now I’m thinking everything is gonna be OK and I order the Italian Beef and I would like some Fries. Savanna smiles politely and says “No we don’t have any fries”!!!”AAaarrgghhh”   “NO FRIES” sensing my unhappiness she offers to try to toss a Potato into the fryer and hope for the best, But she makes it quite clear that this is probably NOT gonna work. Now it occurs to me This is what they were hiding “No Fries” But she is ever the courteous & caring waitress and before I know it I’m feeling OK about a side of chicken strips and a large cherry coke. And actually had a wonderful time there as well. So to Savanna, Joe, Erik, Charley & yes Ashley too ( who was stuck doing Tons of Dishes in the back)  Thank you for a wonderful evening at your Restaurant. You should all get a 2 week paid vacation to wherever… Show this to your boss and who knows Maybe it will work….and speaking of the Boss Can we get some Fries??????

This was one awesome night!!! We started out coming in from  Ottawa St. heading north onto Market. I’d already seen that Shooky’s was cooking out as I headed home from IGA earlier in the afternoon- smelled awesome then and even more so as we slowed down to take in some of the cool classic cars & awesome antique autos that were heading south. Some folks had already come in and parked their beauties on both sides of Market & my driver was definitely rubber-necking.

As we turned around north of the Fire Station, my friend mentioned we were low on gas & how uncool & embarrassing it would be if we ran out in the middle of Draggin Main. After another pass or so, we headed on over to the Lil Casey’s across from City Hall. While he filled up our Sweet Baby Blue, I took the opportunity to take some pix.

I love doing that. Taking pix of all kinds of people, places, animals & things. I thought it’d be cool to take pix of what I was seeing from our 2004 PT Cruiser. L.O.L. We’ve talked, for years, about pimping her out with a custom paint job and some other cool things. After seeing so many cool classics, antiques, and modern autos & trucks, the time for action has come. Just a little plug before continuing. Sweet Baby Blue’s name was put on by the folks at Signs & Designs before they moved the store to where it is now.

Okay folks, today is Easter as you all know and the Sun has graced us with his shining face. I’ll come back in later to tell the tale of my own experience in Draggin Main…..Don’t forget to have fun today and laugh as much as you can….

It is Easter afternoon & I’m back to continue our tale. Remember, I thought it would be cool to take pix from our car while cruising. Well it was fun and a bit frustrating. I like some of the angles, but this amateur photographer needs both a better camera and a bit more practice. Speaking of photographers; I took a picture of a gentleman who looked like a pro & later while I was walking I caught our own Will Brumleve from the Paxton Record getting up close & personal with all those cool cruisin’ machines. I just couldn’t resist taking a few photos of our Paxton Record’s Editor taking photos of Draggin Main.

And the story of our wonderful evening should be finished tomorrow sometime. Hope you all had as much fun as us and if you didnt go,  “WOW”  you missed a great evening….

Today while on our way to Dollar General we came to the  intersection of Pells and Union and watched a Dog run across the street just as happy as could be then, we noticed a woman chasing the dog (who is enjoying being chased). Meanwhile the dog decides he wants join all the pretty cars right down the middle of Pells street and fortunately a motorist slows and turns on his flashers to warn others and to prevent the dog from getting hit. The pooch is really enjoying the attention and smiles at everyone.  ( I couldve sworn the pooch waved at us)The woman takes a quik breather and begins the chase again. We turn left and are behind the Van with the flashing lites and now the dog snickers and cuts through the senior apartment complex to really spice up the chase and so we join the chase along with a White car which is now helping/hoping to corral the wayward pooch. The woman is still jogging along trying to catch up as we drive down along the street searching for the hiding pooch  and here he comes from out of a yard grinning and heading straight for Pells Park. An older couple do their best too try to call the dog but the pooch is just having way to much fun. We pull way ahead while the White car paces the dog ( hoping to surround him) and just when he seems to be out of steam ZOOM off he trots with that Canine smile/snicker ( and again with the wave). But little does he know that his owner is now closing in from another direction and the jogging woman has his retreat route blocked. Suddenly surrounded his smirk turns to     ” oh there you are I was looking all over for you” His owner is overjoyed and thanks everyone for helping and we all go our separate ways. Happy that we live in a community where people still stop to help. Meanwhile I am sure the pooch is planning his next outing and I hope it is a safe one. And though it wasn’t my dog I enjoyed the event just as much as the pooch and I thank all of you.
