OMG I read that a Gay couple came to Paxton to have some sort of civic union???? Not sure I know what all the hubbub is so I exerciseed my constitutional right to google the gays…( sorry but I had to and seeing how there are no laws against it I did ) Anyway I found all sorts of gay webpages and all sorts of Not so gay webpages that talked about Gays (and gay webpages) After hours of dedicated research I have come up with the following list of attributes for these Gay people. According to google (and they know everything) Gays come in all shapes, sizes, genders, religious backgrounds, geographical regions, creeds, and colors. They are Celebrities, Office workers, Business owners, Veterans, and even Athletes ( there were 1million more pages in google so the list is probably longer You know how google is). Also they are known to be very civic oriented, Politically active and even donate to the United Way ( guess that would make them compassionate as well). One webpage even suggested that they pay thier bills on time and mow their yards meticulously and said that they pay all the usual taxes (even the new ones from Gov. Quinn). The real shocker came when I found out that these Gays are indeed “Human Beings” Yeah just like you and me ( that’s what google said and I believe google). Yes they are Human beings and I found out that many are very Religious people ( this is addition to the all the other positive attributes). So now I am really confused, what exactly is the problem again????? If these people are such an abomination they can move to my neighborhood and then me and my neighbors will be surrounded by responsible caring people who care about the community and have really cool looking lawns on which we can have some of those civil unions….And just for the Record I shop locally ALOT and I BOYCOTT BULL#&@T even more…

Our top Stories for 2010
There is really no rank to these stories as they are all special in thier own way. These are the stories I feel deserved to mentioned. they are stories of people, businesses, and civic orginizations in the community coming together to help others. Stories of hope and new beginings that truly deserve our attention…..A community effort called Project Bright Star continued its tradition to help others & make Christmas a Happy Time for many area residents this year. Sally Warnick and many others worked together to help get Toys, Clothing, and Holiday meals for 71 families (185 Children) . The Paxton Fire dept, area Businesses, The PBL High school student council, Paxton Service Clubs Good fellows, The fraternal order of Police, Ford County Sheriffs office, Paxton Police dept, Kim Evans and many other individuals came together to make this happen. Now THAT is TOP TEN STORY!!!!! Raed thr Full story HERE
Jumpin Jax, Petitioned the City council to close Market st. to hold a Benefit for Clayton Hale. The event included a Poker run, Car cruise, Monster Truck display and much more. All these folkks got together to help a young child. Another TOP TEN STORY for 2010As is this one; Tin Pan Organized Williamina week to help raise money for Williamina Clayton. T-shirts sales and a percentage of sales thru that week went to help the family.IGA Continued the tradition of cook-outs that help benefit local organizations This year the City Christmas Tree seemed to be more robust and “Happy”. Its a great deal of work to put up our annual tree and is a tradition that we have come to appreciate. Thank you to all those who helped. Driving downtown and around town at nite was indeed a real treat. I was really amazed at all the wonderfully lit houses and yards. There were so many beautiful displays we went out several nights to see them all.Pride in Paxton got some Solar Lighting panels and Those great looking snowflakes for downtown. The downtown area is really looking great this year. This is another example of community spirit. I’ve seen Diane Johnson on numerous occasions out there putting up reefs downtown and on the Pells street bridge, in addition alot of others donate time and money to make this possible. With some help from Randy Swan we were able to put up a new flag at the Servicemens Memorial near Monicals Pizza. We got the Flag Randy did all the work, . In addition Patrick May installed a new electric box for more out door lighting. Both these men volunteered their time to help us Improve the New Memorial sign.. THANK YOU!!!
