There was a wonderful article in the Paxton Record this week about neighbors and friends helping harvest the crops of one of their own. This is just one example of the blessings of living in a smaller community, specifically ours. Not only did they harvest the crops, but they planted all of the acres in the spring. The woman, Ellen Johnson of Gibson City, had lost her husband to pancreatic cancer in February.
This says so much about the wonderful people in our community. The caring, generostiy and willingness to help others is just a part of the reasons I enjoy living in this area!!
So a huge “kudos” to all the people who helped Ellen Johnson out this year. It speaks volumes for the type of community we all live in and you make us all proud! And if you haven’t had a chance to read the article, go to www.paxtonrecord.net and check it out!
