The Paxton Federated Church’s Christmas Eve candlelight service is set for 11 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 24.

On Tuesday, Dec. 20, at 7 p.m., Alison Arends of rural Melvin will present her own Christian-themed Christmas musical at the Market Street Theatre in Paxton. Arends is a local pianist who has provided piano accompaniment for churches and schools over the years and discovered a penchant for creating her own music several years ago. years, in Paxton. Tickets cost $8.

If you haven’t had a chance to see this absolutley wonderful display, make sure you go before the end of the holiday season!! It is well worth it. I’ve been by there several times already!!

Where: 332 W. Patton St., Paxton. The home is two blocks north of Illinois 9 and three blocks west of U.S. 45 on the southwest side of Paxton.

When: from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. weeknights, 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, through the first week of the New Year. The display does not operate on rainy nights.

Paxton Church of Christ invites the community to worship on Wednesdays (WOW)! This is a time of Bible study and worship. Groups include: PreK-Kindergarten, 1st-5th grades, Junior High, High School, and Adults. Nursery will be available for young children who have parents attending the Adult class. We are located at 400 W Ottawa, Paxton (across from Hardee’s). There will be no WOW on December 21st or 28th, but will resume on January 4th.
