Fly-In/Drive-In at airport Saturday
The Paxton Municipal Airport’s annual Fly-In/Drive-In and Open House is scheduled for 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 8. The event is sponsored by the Paxton Airport Association and Expirimental Aircraft Assocation
Activities planned include static displays of airplanes and helicopters as well as free plane rides for children ages 8-17 from 9am to 3pm.
The Paxton Emergency Response Service will serve a pancakes-and-sausage breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. Porkchop sandwiches will also be available for purchase, starting at 11 a.m. Kettle popcorn will also be for sale. The airport is located along Illinois 9 just west of Paxton. For more information, call Richard Kingery at 379-3642 or Dan Grunloh at 386-2213.
Townwide Garage Sales This Weekend
Paxton’s annual townwide garage sales are scheduled for Friday, June 7, and Saturday, June 8. Maps of the sales will be available at both Casey’s General Store locations in Paxton, as well as Village Pantry in Paxton, and at www.paxtongaragesales.com.

A special thank you to Patrick and Shane of Mays Electric Co. for once again volunteering time and in this case material to repair the lighting of the Servicemen Memorial Sign in Paxton. This is the second time that they have helped us with the electrical at the sign. In 2010 they installed an electrical outlet so we are able to have the holidays lights each year.
