Come support The Geiken Family from Paxton, IL.
Cordelia “Cee” Geiken; a wife, mom & friend, suffered serious and sustained injuries in a motorcycle accident in August. Her recovery is still ongoing, as are the expenses involved.
Mena’s Mercantile, friends and community are rallying together to help benefit the Geiken family while benefiting the community as well. Let’s make the expenses of her recovery the last thing the Geiken family needs to worry about!
This is the season of winter formals’ spring balls, proms and graduations. We will be having an open house at Mena’s Mercantile at which time prom dresses, formal attire, wedding dresses & accessories will be available to the public.
We will be accepting donations for the merchandise. All proceeds will go to the Geiken Family. Dresses, gowns and accessories are not for resale. It is our intention to provide costs savings to attendees and sharing these blessings to all who are involved in this event.
Clean out your closet and share the love! Now through February 10th we are accepting donations of any formal attire. Our wish list includes: prom dresses, tuxedos, wedding gowns, evening gowns, purses, hats, gloves, accessories, etc. Since the Geiken family is also into steam punk and reenactment ,we are also accepting vintage clothing and accessories as well.
If you are unable to attend and would like to make a contribution of gift certificates, gifts, merchandise, etc. feel free to send it to Mena’s Mercantile for our drawings and door prizes.
Please invite any and all who might be interested!!!
I am, also, posting this event to our Community Calendar.
Food For Families: The PBL Food Pantry Needs Us
Whether it’s a family of one or of many there are those who have little to no food. They may live right next door to you or across the street; they may sit next to you at church or school; they could even be a close friend who doesn’t let on. Give the gift of Love this Yuletide and give to the The PBL Food Pantry. The Food Pantry provides an essential service to our communities. They need contributions of food, money, and time. Right now, Dollar General has a box that can be filled with food stuffs. Also, you can contact Millie Sutton at 217-379-9128. She is really sweet and hardworking. She is more than happy to share with you what the Pantry needs.

The PBL Food Pantry is located at
